Exhibitor terms

These terms apply to participation as an exhibitor at Båter i Sjøen 2026 at Aker Brygge, 27–30 August 2026, organised by NORBOAT AS.

Terms and conditions

1. At the exhibition along the docks, boats with accessories may be shown, as well as maritime products related to boats, boating and water sports etc. On land in tent stands, motors and boat equipment, information about maritime activity and sea travel, and maritime products related to boats, boating and water sports etc., and/or any other products specifically approved by the organiser, may be shown.
2. Registration is binding. However, the organiser may, at any time before the exhibition opens, for any reason and without liability, reject all or part of order(s) placed or agreed, including rejecting or refusing all, or reducing the number of, boats and/or other products and services mentioned in section 1. The organiser may also make such changes during the exhibition against covering the exhibitor's documented financial outlays, limited to an amount equal to the space fee. The organiser freely decides the allocation of exhibition spaces. Boat(s) and/or other products exhibited must not conflict with Norwegian law or regulations, including the regulations on the production and sale of recreational craft (the CE-marking regulations), or a legally binding judgment.
3. The exhibitor must also, before, during and after the exhibition, carefully follow the directives and instructions laid down at any time by the organiser and the authorities, as well as the rules of order and guidelines for the outdoor area – Aker Brygge.
4. If the registration fee and/or space fee is not paid by the set deadline, the exhibitor is liable to cover the registration fee and the space fee, plus interest and any costs. The organiser is otherwise entitled in such cases to let the space to others without further notice. If the organiser lets the space to another exhibitor, the exhibitor must nevertheless cover the full registration fee and 50% of the space fee. Move-in to the fair will not be granted where the space fee has not been paid. The organiser has a right of retention in exhibited boat(s) and/or other products for unpaid space fees.
5. The organiser provides ordinary security but has no liability for the exhibited boats and/or other products, neither before, during nor after the exhibition. While the exhibition is open to the public, all boats and tent stands must be staffed by the exhibitor. All tents must be open to the public; it is not permitted, partially or fully, to close the tent. The exhibitor must ensure that what is exhibited is insured, including against fire, damage and theft.
6. The exhibitor must exercise caution to prevent accidents and damage arising in connection with their participation. The exhibitor must also treat docks, mooring places, tent stands and land areas with care. Sufficient mooring equipment must accompany each exhibitor boat. As further instructed by the organiser, some boats must use anchor mooring in addition to ordinary dock mooring. NB – there are special conditions in the inner dock facility at Aker Brygge Marina. All use of anchors may ONLY take place at the organiser's request. For use beyond these provisions, the exhibitor is solely responsible. When anchoring/mooring, the skipper/exhibitor must, regardless of the foregoing, exercise special care, and all anchoring/mooring is at the skipper's/exhibitor's own risk. The exhibitor is liable to the organiser for damage and accidents caused by themselves or their contractors.
7. Full or partial subletting, lending or transfer of the exhibition space is not permitted.
8. All boats and/or other products must be clearly priced with recommended retail prices, including duties/taxes.
9. The berth width (the outriggers) can only be adjusted on some of the docks, and may only be carried out by the organiser.
10. Exhibitor parking is in the parking garage at Aker Brygge or street parking at somewhat longer walking distance from the fair area. Further details in separate information on the organiser's website.
11. The exhibitor is prohibited from:
    1. distributing printed matter etc. outside their own exhibition space.
    2. using loudspeakers or other devices or effects that may disturb other exhibitors or the public.
    3. having beach flags, flagpoles or the like on the docks that obstruct the public or compromise necessary safety requirements.
12. Without confirmed permission from the organiser, it is not permitted to:
    1. arrange competitions, entertainment, shows, film/video screenings or other visual displays, raffles, etc.
    2. remove boat(s) and/or other products from the exhibition before it has ended.
    3. profile/market products and brands other than boats, boat engines, boat equipment, maritime products related to boats, boating and water sports etc. and/or any other product specifically approved by the organiser that the exhibitor and/or their dealer(s) carry.
    4. occupy the exhibition spaces outside the times specified in section 14. If the exhibitor occupies the spaces outside this period (even with written permission), the exhibitor must pay the organiser NOK 10,000 (ten thousand) per boat and/or other product per commenced day. This applies regardless of whether the exhibitor has sold the boat(s) and/or products to a third party. The organiser may further – at the exhibitor's expense and risk – remove and store boat(s)/products occupying the spaces outside the set times, and – after 14 days' written notice – dispose of such at the exhibitor's expense and risk.
13. Exhibitors must comply with the speed regulations in Oslo Harbour, which are 5 knots.
14. The exhibition spaces are available from Tuesday 25 August 2026 at 07:00 for tent stands / 12:00 for boats, until Monday 31 August 2026 at 12:00 for boats and tents.
15. VAT of 25% will be added to invoices from the organiser for registration and space fees etc. This also applies to foreign exhibitors. The application form for "Refund of Norwegian VAT to foreign businesses" is available on Norboat's website.
16. Foreign exhibitors must have a responsible contact person in Norway in accordance with tax and duty regulations. Foreign exhibitors' contact person(s) in Norway are jointly and severally liable with the exhibitor for compliance with the applicable exhibitor terms and for boat(s) and/or other products being removed within the above deadlines.
17. If the exhibition is prevented, has to be limited, or is delayed by terrorism, strike, fire, pandemic (a new pandemic or an already declared pandemic), extraordinary weather, changes in law or regulation, public decision, or any event that must be regarded as force majeure, the organiser has the right to terminate the exhibition agreement without the exhibitor being entitled to a refund of the paid space fee or compensation for any other loss the termination or cancellation may cause.
18. The organiser's liability for breach is in all cases limited to refunding at most the paid registration fee and space fee.
19. Any disputes between the organiser and the exhibitor are resolved under Norwegian law with Oslo District Court as the agreed legal venue. In the event of an interpretation dispute, the Norwegian original text prevails over translation into other languages.
