What data we process – and why
Newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and any name and interests you provide. To document your consent, we also store the time, the source of the sign-up and the IP address used. When we send the newsletter we measure opens and clicks to improve the content; the IP address is then only stored in encrypted (hashed) form.
- Legal basis: your consent.
- Unsubscribe: at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.
- Retention: until you unsubscribe. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days, and open/click statistics after 24 months.
Book a viewing
If you request a viewing of a boat, we collect your name, email, phone number, preferred day and time, number of people and an optional message. The request is sent to the relevant exhibitor so they can arrange the viewing with you, and you receive a confirmation by email. Your IP address is stored only in hashed form to prevent misuse of the form.
- Legal basis: to handle your request, and our legitimate interest in connecting visitors and exhibitors.
- Retention: deleted no later than 12 months after the fair.
Contact form
When you send us a message via the contact form, your name, email, subject and message are sent to us as an email. This information is not stored on the website.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you.
Tickets
Tickets are sold through TicketCo, which is a separate data controller for the purchase and payment – see TicketCo's privacy policy. If, during purchase, you consent to receive our newsletter, your email address is transferred to our newsletter register.
Competitions
- Fenderjakten: when you register a fender find, we store your email address and, if provided, your name and phone number on our own website — to count entries, draw winners and contact them. If you buy a ticket with marketing consent before the deadline, bonus entries are registered with your TicketCo order number as a reference. The entry register is deleted automatically 90 days after the draw has been completed.
- Best boat photo: runs on Instagram using the hashtag #baterisjoen26. Photos and data are processed by Instagram/Meta under their terms.
Statistics and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. Cookie-based analytics is enabled only if you consent via the banner — before consent, no analytics cookies are set. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which means Google may receive some cookieless, aggregated signals (without identifiers that identify you) even without consent. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.
Marketing and ad measurement
We use Meta Pixel to measure the effect of our advertising. The pixel is activated only if you consent to marketing via the cookie banner, and then shares events from your visit (such as page views and ticket-purchase clicks) with Meta Platforms. Without consent, nothing is loaded from Meta.
Maps and embedded content
The map on the site is provided by Mapbox; when the map is shown, map data is loaded from Mapbox' servers. Some pages may also contain embedded content (for example video) from other services. Such services may receive information about your visit and follow their own privacy policies.
Cookies
| Name | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| bis_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | Necessary | 1 year |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics – distinguishes visitors (set only with consent) | Analytics | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel – ad measurement (set only with consent) | Marketing | 3 months |
You control your consent via the banner or the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page.
